Compact construction equipment manufacturer Doosan Bobcat to open a new warehouse in the Beroun Region

The industrial zone developer Panattoni is preparing a modern hall for Doosan Bobcat in Zdice, Beroun Region. The world’s leading manufacturer of compact loaders and excavators will use it to receive, inspect, sort, store and prepare materials and components for supplying the production lines in nearby Dobříš, where, in addition to a production plant, it also has an innovation centre and a training centre. The 13,500 sq m hall will offer work for approximately 80 employees, and the value of the property will reach CZK 300 million. The start of operation is planned for the next year.

“In recent years, we have been systematically improving the quality of operation and increasing production capacity. Consolidation of all external warehouses into one location with expansion of the capacity of storage space using modern technologies is another logical step for the development of our business. The Panattoni project in Zdice has a very strategic position for our production – it has a direct connection both to the D5 motorway and to our infrastructure in Dobříš,” said David Frodl, Doosan Bobcat Communication Manager EMEA.

“The hall in Zdice will mainly help the tenant to streamline operation, because it will replace several existing warehouses in various locations. However, I would like to point out the environmental aspect of the project. According to our estimates, the concentration of logistics under one roof will help save thousands of litres of diesel per month, which means hundreds of kilograms of greenhouse gas emissions. The hall will also meet the strict requirements of BREEAM environmental certification according to the latest standards. I am very pleased that this project also fully corresponds to our long-term strategy of sustainable development,” says Pavel Sovička, Panattoni’s Managing Director for the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

The storage hall will also include offices, the total area used by the tenant being 13,541 sq m, with an option for another 5,000 sq m. Consolidation of storage spaces from different locations into one modern hall will make it possible to reduce costs, carbon footprint and energy consumption. The construction of the storage hall will aim at high rating of the BREEAM New Construction environmental certification, at least at the Very Good level.

The Doosan Bobcat complex in Dobříš and the new storage hall near Zdice are of key importance not only for the EMEA region, but also for global exports. Doosan Bobcat in Dobříš employs over 1,500 staff and will supply over 25,000 machines to the world market this year.
