Panattoni Europe to build a new industrial zone near the Košice airport
The industrial zone developer Panattoni Europe is starting the announced expansion to Slovakia. Having bought five plots of land with a total area of 75,000 sqm near Košice from Penta Real Estate, it plans to build two logistics halls with a storage area of 36,000 sqm. The new Panattoni Park Košice will provide its tenants with top industrial premises with excellent connections to the transport infrastructure, offering the city of Košice and its surroundings hundreds of new jobs.
“The new logistics park will mainly benefit from a very advantageous geographical location. It will have a direct connection to the D1 motorway and the Košice airport, serving not only Eastern Slovakia, but also the Hungarian, Polish and Ukrainian markets,” explains Erik Ivaničko, Panattoni Europe’s Development Manager for Slovakia.
“The Košice Region is very similar to the Moravian-Silesian Region in the Czech Republic. It is a region with an enormous potential but falls far behind it. Currently, it has the second highest unemployment in the country. I firmly believe that our business plan will be attractive to reputable foreign users, giving the region further necessary impetus for further development,” says Pavel Sovička, Panattoni Europe’s Managing Director for the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Construction of the first hall in the new industrial zone should start in a few weeks. Its completion is planned for the end of this year.
Panattoni Europe, the European industrial property market leader, has recently opened a separate branch in Bratislava, Slovakia. One of the first actions of the new regional unit was the partnership at the Trend Real Estate and Development conference held in May. Panattoni Europe operated in Slovakia in the past, but it managed all its activities through its Prague headquarters.
