Panattoni Europe to construct 60,000 m² logistics space to the south of Bremen
- Logistics centre to be created in Verden an der Aller
- Total investment will be €63 million
- Completion scheduled for early 2021
Panattoni Europe, the leading project developer for industrial and logistics premises in Europe, is to develop a logistics centre in the town of Verden (Aller) in Lower Saxony. Two buildings with a combined surface area of 66,233m² will be constructed on the 117,971m² site. Hall 1 will comprise 30,769m² of logistics space, 1,224m² of office spaces and 2,650m² of mezzanine space. At 31,590m², Hall 2 will be slightly smaller and feature 28,861m² of logistics space, 906m² of office spaces and 1,823m² of mezzanine space. The buildings will be divisible into seven independent units. In total, 168 car parking spaces and 28 truck parking spaces will be provided on the site.
The logistics centre, to be named Panattoni Park Bremen Süd, will cost some €63 million to construct and will meet the requirements of sustainable construction according to the DGNB (German Sustainable Building Council) Gold Standard.
The site’s convenient location and excellent transport connections were key factors in selecting the town of Verden (Aller) for the development. The logistics centre will be constructed at Karoline-Herschel-Strasse 1, directly adjacent to the Verden-Ost exit from German motorway A27. As a result, future tenants of the premises will benefit from fast and direct transport connections to Bremen – a key economic centre, with many international companies based in the city. Prominent companies with international operations, such as the food delivery service Hello Fresh and Amazon, have already established presences on site and the surrounding region.
Speaking about the project, Fabian Fortmann from the Business Promotion department in Verden (Aller) said: “There is always high demand for commercial premises in the town. For this reason, I’m delighted that the commitment of Panattoni Europe will soon create new opportunities for companies to settle and expand here. This project will continue the successful development of Verden (Aller) as a centre for business.”
“The town of Verden (Aller) is situated in the economic triangle of Bremen, Hamburg and Hanover; it is a highly attractive location for storage and transhipment processes. We’ve had good experiences in the region with our developments for companies such as BLG, F.W. Neukirch and Noerpel. The location speaks for itself and will ensure that the premises are leased swiftly,” said Fred-Markus Bohne, Managing Partner of Panattoni Europe. “First and foremost, we would like to thank the town and the Business Promotion department in Verden for their trust and energetic support in driving this project forward. This logistics centre will further strengthen Verden as a centre for business.”
Panattoni Europe plans to start construction of the logistics centre in February 2020, with completion scheduled for January 2021.
